Coordinate closely with the Attorney General's Office and Department colleagues, including Compliance and Enforcement team members and Regional Office team members, regarding the status of permitted facilities, as well as creating or maintaining policies and procedures for that coordination. Provide technical assistance and guidance to the engineering team, regulated facilities, public citizens, engineering consultants, legislators, and others regarding laws, regulations, and engineering requirements through in-person or online meetings, written communications, and presentations. Participate in training and technical conferences to remain current on supervisory role, engineering practices, and innovative treatment technologies, and effectively communicate this information to other Department engineers and engineering consultants. Develop and maintain an extensive working knowledge of federal, state and local regulations, technical principles and/or practices applicable to assigned projects and area of expertise, including the permitting process and the sampling and analysis of environmental media, groundwater monitoring programs at solid and hazardous waste management facilities, and fate and transport of contaminants in the environment. Statewide travel for periods up to one week may be required.
