Pay Range: $57,677 - $74,980 annual compensation

Workdays & Hours: Monday - Friday 6am - 3pm; some evening/weekend work may be required.

A Quality Control Specialist position is available with the City of Fort Worth Water Department, Plant Operations Division.

Plant Operations is responsible for the treatment of water and wastewater, the operation and maintenance of all water and wastewater treatment plants serving the City of Fort Worth and their customer cities.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with major course work in Chemistry, Biology, or related field
  • Three (3) years of experience in laboratory or quality control operations.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must pass Drug Screen and Physical

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Possession of a Class “B” or greater TCEQ Water Operator certification
  • Background or degree in Chemistry
  • Previous experience in ozone disinfection and membrane filtration systems
  • Previous experience at a water treatment facility with 20 MGD or greater capacity

The Quality Control Specialist job responsibilities include:
  • Evaluate chemicals used for water treatment
  • Conduct studies regarding the effectiveness of treatment processes to optimize water quality
  • Coordinate with laboratory services staff regarding quality assurance activities
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory aspects of the Quality assurance Plan
  • Monitor, investigate, and evaluate water quality programs, processes and concerns
  • Train staff on appropriate procedures on water quality testing
