General Description and Classification Standards

The Financial Analyst Sr - The purpose of this position is to perform in-dept financial analysis, audit functions, reconciliations and provide recommendations to improve the efficiencies of the City’s Airport Parking and Ground Transportation Revenue Control Systems, products, and services. Ability to interpret and have a general knowledge of financial/audit practices, policies and procedures applicable regulations and standards as necessary in the completion of daily responsibilities of the job. Assemble information and prepare written reports and documents in a concise, clear, and effective manner. Develop and implement long-term goals to promote effectiveness and efficiency. Remain abreast of policy changes, methods, and operational budgetary needs. Effectively communicate with all aspects of customer relation, which may include, but not limited to elected officials, management, employees, and the general public.

As part of the Financial Reporting team, they will be responsible for ensuring that revenue is recorded timely and accurately in accordance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) as prescribed by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).

Works under general supervision. May work independently with responsibility for assigned function(s) or program(s).

Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (Equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the required degree on an exception basis). Five years of specific professional experience. May have some project management or leadership experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

Master’s degree in finance, accounting or related field (Equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the master’s degree on an exception basis) with three years' of financial experience.
