The Position

Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.

This position performs a broad variety of clerical, secretarial, and administrative support duties in support of the Nevada Real Estate Division's Licensing Section. Incumbent will report directly to the Licensing Section Supervisor under the supervision of the Licensing Manager. The position serves as the phone receptionist for the Licensing section, daily answering very busy multiple lines. Responsibilities include but are not limited to answer incoming telephone calls, retrieves and transfers messages from the general mailbox, and route calls and messages to appropriate staff and sections, answers routine informational questions, tracks and compiles statistical data from the compilation of calls and saves the call log to be viewed by supervisors and managers. The incumbent will serve as a member on the Division's mail team and must have experience with mail processing which includes opening, sorting, logging, stapling, and distributing mail within the section. This position performs additional clerical tasks including, but not limited to data entry, filing, copying, scanning, faxing, letter preparation, and other correspondence as directed by the Licensing Manager and any other duties as requested by the Administrator and management. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and six months of general clerical experience; OR six months of experience as a Clerical Trainee in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
