The Position

Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.

Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives. This individual will work under the Financial Literacy and Security Division within the State Treasurer's Office. The position assists the Deputy Treasurer of Financial Literacy and Security to implement and oversee multiple new areas of complex and highly technical programs including the Nevada Employee Savings Trust (NEST) Program, Student Loan Repayment Program, ABLE Savings Program, and Statewide Council on Financial Independence, as well as the existing Student Loan Ombudsman Program.

This individual will support the Deputy Treasurer with overall long-term planning, oversight, management, and administration of the Division, including the preparation of budgets, managing vendors, and overseeing legislative and regulatory activities. Additionally, this individual will directly support the efforts of the NEST Program and will serve as the lead and subject matter expert on all technical aspects of the program. In coordination with management, this individual will oversee the creation, implementation, and proper administration of the Board of Trustees of the NEST, including providing operational and strategic planning; working with vendors to conduct financial and other associated studies on Nevada residents and their retirement; and analyzing and reviewing results to make recommendations to the Board on future courses of action and/or the development of updated policies. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and four years of professional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and four years of professional experience which included budgeting, accounting, and/or economic or management analysis and projections; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and six years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Management Analyst III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements This position requires a State of Nevada/FBI fingerprint-based background check as a condition of appointment and as condition of continuing employment.
