The Position

Custodial Supervisors plan, organize and direct the overall custodial and general building maintenance services for assigned facilities consisting of offices, classrooms, conference areas, special event centers and other facilities.

Buildings and Grounds is currently recruiting for a Custodial Supervisor 1 in Carson City, Nevada. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the following program: Sierra Regional Center (SRC). Custodial Supervisor I perform custodial and semi-skilled janitorial duties, in addition to assigning and reviewing work, training, and evaluating the performance of assigned staff. Supervisory techniques used in training and providing work direction to others. Incumbent will have knowledge of materials and equipment used in custodial functions; and safe and proper methods of using/mixing cleaning chemicals. They may also participate in or oversee custodial inspections, supply management, and event set-up. Incumbent will also be responsible for snow removal. In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of building custodial and general building maintenance work, one year of which must have included lead experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Notes Must be available for standby/call back. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
