IT Program Manager

The IT Program Manager is responsible for resource and demand management organizing and coordinating IT programs and oversee the progress of operations. This position provides strategic guidance to teams and project managers in ways that promote the AIM’s culture. The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader and will have experience in managing staff of different disciplines to produce results in a timely manner. They will also be able to develop efficient strategies and tactics to support program/project management goals. The goal is to ensure that all programs deliver the desirable outcome to our organization.

Responsibilities

Communicates with IT Executive and senior leadership teams, and business relationship managers to communicate program strategy, direction and changes. Partners with BRMs and the senior leadership of the business community to identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve the goals of the enterprise. Maintains the efficiency of the project management process such as planning, forecasting, scheduling and resource risk assessment. Identifies and mitigates potential risks. Manages teams of multiple project managers, project leaders and/or support staff as direct or dotted line reports. Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the IT Project Management office. Creates a structure/environment in which team members can work together as an efficient team.

Monitors, measures and reports on project and demand status to IT leadership and senior business leadership. Accountable to Deputy CIO, ELT team for enterprise/strategic goals, including but not limited to, efficiency and functionality of all IT Project completions, timeline adherence, budget and resource senior management. Requirements proven experience as a Program Manager or other managerial position. Thorough understanding of project/program management methodology, resource management tools and techniques and methods. Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of program/project management software (MS Project, Sensei Beacon, Jira) Knowledge of Service Now, Power BI and SharePoint, etc. is preferred. Outstanding leadership and organizational skills are required. Excellent communication and excellent problem-solving skills are required.

Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience

Bachelor ’ s Degree and at least 10 years of experience in IT business or industry; at least 5-10 years of IT Project Management experience; PMP certification, Risk Management certification experience preferred; at least 7 years of experience of demand and capacity management, developing project plans including a project plan that includes the charter, scope, project management approach, management plans, statement of work, cost estimates, schedule; working with cross-functional teams and staff of all levels; experience in managing a project budget up to $100million; knowledge of project management best practices, including knowledge of waterfall and agile methodologies; experience Identifying and mediating risk; experience in the indirect management of team members, including assisting in the development, training and assignment of work/projects to other members of a team.
