Work Schedule: Mon-Fri. 8-5P, alternate schedule may be available
Work Location: Hybrid. Employee will report to 111 SW Columbia St, Portland, Or 97201 for in-person work. Currently, City of Portland employees are required to perform 50% of their work in office. Remote work must be performed within Oregon or Washington. For more information, click here .

Position Summary
The Revenue Division is seeking two full-time Revenue and Tax Specialist (RTS) IV positions. An RTS IV functions at an advanced level with responsibility for complex customer accounts and tax returns; research; and customer account reviews. All assignments focus on providing quality customer service to taxpayers, businesses, and tax professionals.

Duties vary with business and tax cycles. This recruitment may be used fill additional RTS IV positions that become available within the next six months.

As a Revenue Tax Specialist IV, you will:
  • Analyze customer accounts and tax returns
  • Identify calculation errors and omissions
  • Respond to written correspondence from taxpayers
  • Answer taxpayer phone calls
  • Create correspondence to communicate information in regards to billings, credits/refunds, and taxpayer inquiries.
  • Other duties as assigned

To Qualify

The following minimum qualifications are required for this position: Experience reviewing and analyzing tax returns and/or financial documents.Experience explaining complex tax/financial concepts, requirements, and practices.Experience resolving internal and external customer requests while meeting service expectations.Experience using established guidelines to make sound, independent decisions.
