Position Summary
The Financial Analyst II is responsible for financial and management analysis related to the budget and operations of a specific City fund. Your duties will vary from day to day, will range from routine to difficult and will be creatively challenging.

The Financial Analyst II is a key position in our bureau, responsible for specific financial tasks and analysis of the City’s risk management funds. You will not just analyze financial data, you will work with managers and staff to assist them run their businesses, implement financial decisions and manage their finances. A vital requirement of your role will require you to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.

As a Financial Analyst II, you will:
  • Assist in the financial management of the City’s funds that provides risk management services to City bureaus.
  • Conduct financial analyzes of the fund’s activities.
  • Update and manage rate models for recovering costs of the City’s risk management funds.
  • Update and manage reporting systems for the City’s risk management funds.
  • Assist in addressing business decisions for the City’s risk management funds.

To Qualify

The following minimum qualifications are required for this position: Knowledge and experience applying the principles, practices, and methods of financial analysis.Experience assisting in preparing and managing an organization’s budget, preparing revenue and expenditure reports and analyzes, and preparing budget status reports, and other financial analysis reports.Experience preparing reports, presentations and other communications on complex financial and management issues for a variety of audiences.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and staff within your organization.Ability to develop and implement business process improvements.
