Job Description

Pay Range: $20.44/hr. - $25.55/hr.

Workdays & Hours: FLSA Nonexempt position. Monday-Friday 8am-5pm; some evening/weekend work required. Hybrid on-site work model available with supervisory approval; staff required to be on-site at least two days per week.

An Administrative Technician position is available with the City of Fort Worth IT Solutions’ IT Finance Purchasing division. The Administrative Technician position is needed to perform a wide variety of administrative and technical tasks related to procurement and administrative tasks of the assigned area of responsibility. This customer-focused position is also detail-oriented and works with our internal customers.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate degree from an accredited college with major coursework in Business, Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, Office Administration, or related field.
  • Two (2) years of clerical and administrative experience.
  • Candidate selected for hire must pass a Criminal Background Check for CJIS.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience working with PeopleSoft Financials and Procurement.
  • General knowledge of State and municipal government purchasing laws.

The Administrative Technician’s job responsibilities include:
  • Account analysis and purchasing including processing quotes, requisitions, and invoices.
  • Maintain electronic records for products and services purchased.
  • Ordering materials and supplies.
  • Coordination with vendors for product deliveries.
  • Reviewing AP invoices for payment.
  • Reconciliation of credit card payments.
  • Various administrative duties.

Working Conditions

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions.

Physical Demand

Sedentary Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Background Check

Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
