The City of Fort Worth Customer Care / Pretreatment section with the Water Department is recruiting to hire an Environmental Pretreatment Supervisor position to oversee field crews that monitor, inspect, survey and investigate industrial and commercial water customers to determine their environmental impact and compliance with applicable regulations within assigned programs and services; and to provide assistance to the Environmental Program Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in biology, chemistry, environmental science, or a related field
  • Four (4) years of responsible experience in environmental management programs and services
  • One (1) year of administrative and/or lead supervisory experience
  • Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 3 years previous experience with Industrial Pretreatment programs
  • Registered Environmental Manager (REM)
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local environmental regulations related to water quality and industrial pretreatment
  • Knowledge of pretreatment data management systems, laboratory information management systems (LIMS), and/or Customer Information Systems (CIS)

The Environmental Pretreatment Supervisor job responsibilities include:
  • Supervise, direct, coordinate and review work plan for Environmental Specialists
  • Conduct and evaluate the results of samples collection, inspections, surveys and complaint investigation concerning their environmental impact and compliance
  • Make proper determination and applicability of various environmental regulations, issues and conditions related to specific environmental programs
  • Permit, inspect, monitor and provide enforcement recommendations to the Wholesale Customer City industrial facilities to ensure adherence to pretreatment standards including conducting site visits, sample collection and data analysis
  • Interact and coordinate with the Wholesale Customer City Representatives
  • Perform technical and complex environmental protection tasks in the areas of water pollution control, hazardous waste generation, storage and disposal, and related environmental concerns
