Pay Range: $52,768.00 - $68,599.00 annual compensation.

A Management Analyst I job is available with the City of Fort Worth’s Internal Audit Department. The Internal Audit Department assesses citywide risks and conducts audits and analyses to help ensure proper risk management and good governance. Internal Audit also conducts investigations as assigned by the City Council and/or as requested by the City Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Public Administration, Finance, Business Administration, or related
  • No previous experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong research and problem-solving abilities.
  • Local government experience.

The Management Analyst I - Internal Audit job responsibilities includes:
  • Provides a variety of analytical and research support in assigned department or division; analyzes and makes recommendations for the solution of budgetary, fiscal or operational concerns and issues.
  • Provides assistance in resolving operational and administrative problems; identifies problem area; conducts research to find alternative solutions; prepares reports to present and interpret data; makes recommendations; and completes forms, paperwork or other administrative procedures to assist in implementation of programs.
  • Participates in special projects including research of new programs and services industry benchmarking, and feasibility analyses.
  • Assists with the performance of process re-engineering studies for assigned department or division; conducts interviews with personnel to identify functional areas; collects historical data to plot trends; prepares profile of area being studied; maps process and work flows; and identifies problem/opportunity areas.

Working Conditions:

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking and repetitive motions.

Physical Demand:

Light Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.

Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Background Check

Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
