Pay Range: $22.02/hr. - $27.52/hr.

An Administrative Assistant job is available with the City of Fort Worth’s Internal Audit Department. The Internal Audit Department assesses citywide risks and conducts audits and analyses to help ensure proper risk management and good governance. Internal Audit also conducts investigations as assigned by the City Council and/or as requested by the City Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college with major course work in Business Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field.
  • Four (4) years of clerical and administrative experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Research abilities.
  • Time management skills.

The Administrative Assistant - Internal Audit job responsibilities include:
  • Provides administrative support to the daily operations of assigned department.
  • Performs a wide variety of clerical and word processing duties such as heavy telephone and over the counter interaction with external and internal parties, processing paperwork and entering data into various City databases.
  • Responds to requests for information from supervisory staff, employees, or general public. Answers questions related to the department’s activities, programs, policies, and procedures. Conducts follow-up research to retrieve answers and supporting information.
  • Performs various fiscal activities including, monitoring and submitting requisitions for supplies and materials, initiating purchase orders. Makes travel and training arrangements.
  • Provides payroll and staffing support to assigned division. Compiles, calculates, maintains and reviews division payroll. Verifies time sheets, investigates questionable data and processes payroll.

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions.

Physical Demand:

Sedentary Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Background Check

Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
