Job Description

General Description and Classification Standards

The purpose of this position is to act as an SMS Manager Regulatory and Compliance Division.

This position assists in the development of the Safety Managements annual business plan, implements the SMS Operations objectives that support the plan, and assists in preparing the operations annual operating budget. The SMS Manager conducts timely and comprehensive investigations of all accidents and safety incidents. Prepares factual reports to appropriate divisions summarizing the circumstances and root causes of the accident or incident, and then follows up with recommended corrective and preventative action to be taken.

Supervision Received

This person will provide support to the Program Management Officer.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Aviation Management, Business Administration, Safety Management, or a closely related discipline

5 years of experience at the supervisory level of Airport Operations or similar organization that is large and complex.

Preferred Requirements (separate from minimum requirements and not required to qualify for the job)

AAAE CM, AAE, ACE, ACI IAP or Advanced degree preferred.
