Position Description
The IT Support Senior Technician has an expert level of technical knowledge and experience in one or more IT-related areas. This position's scope of responsibility includes providing technical support and assistance to departments, faculty, staff, and students with the use of hardware and some software support and maintenance. The IT Support Senior Technician will also specialize in hardware and software that support institutional strategic initiatives, and manage area or unit IT projects that impact multiple departments or units.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Provides advanced IT support and troubleshooting for healthcare simulation hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Monitors and manages the status of the A/V system, including servers, DVRs, and various A/V equipment located in the Dallas server room and resolve any issues as needed.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of each piece of A/V equipment and each server in the TTUHSC Simulation Program server rooms.
  • Develops, updates, and maintains an accurate inventory of all local computers, including user office computers, simulator control computers, and workstations on wheels for all locations within TTUHSC Simulation Program.
  • Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures specific to TTUHSC and essential to the TTUHSC Simulation Programs alignment with Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice and Society for Simulation in Healthcare Accreditation for learner assessments that involve recording and storing of learner data.
  • Evaluate and recommend new simulation technologies, workflows, and solutions that contribute to the overall efficiency of learning activities and IT related initiatives for the TTUHSC Simulation Program.
  • Assists with set-ups/tear downs, tours to support overall success for learning at the Dallas/Mansfield location.
  • Coordinates with simulation educators, administrators, stakeholders to ensure learning objectives are met.
  • Serves as the point of contact for all administrative requests for the TTUHSC Simulation Program in the learning management system
  • Provides general IT support for all locations in the TTUHSC Simulation Program to ensure adequate learning experiences for learners within Schools and/or external participants, as well as optimal IT functioning for TTUHSC Simulation Program team members.
  • Communicates with staff, faculty, or other IT personnel to ensure the learning space for simulation-based activities.
  • Operates computer manikins, related operating software, characteristics, programming.
  • Liaise with vendors and service providers for procurement, support, and maintenance of simulation and IT products and services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area plus seven (7) years related full-time paid experience OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal eleven (11) years.
