Description:

Under direction, develops, supports, tests, maintains, and debugs highly complex SAP and other Enterprise systems and may provide supervision to other junior level IT Enterprise developers; provides advanced SAP development expertise and has a primary responsibility for the development and support of cross-departmental complex business systems and SAP applications that support Purchasing, Finance, Budget, Utilities, HR and Payroll functionality, performs project management tasks on IT-related projects, provides training to other City staff, offers subject matter expertise in areas such as application interfaces, and introduces innovative approaches and methodologies for rapid programming development and support.

Schedule: Hybrid, 9/80 work schedule (with every other Friday off)
Supervises: Incumbents may supervise lower-level Information Technology staff.

Essential Duties:

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Manage and provide development leadership and direction on SAP modules such as HR, MM, WM, CRM, FICO etc. related business application issues
  • Develop all type of RICEFW developments including enhancement to standard SAP processes
  • Articulate object-oriented design patterns in ABAP
  • Development using File, RFC, IDOC, BAPI, Web services, Proxy based interfaces and database connections
  • Utilize middleware tool SAP PI/PO or Cloud Platform Integration for the development of application interfaces
  • Troubleshoot and debug SAP and other business applications and interfaces

Minimum Qualifications:

Sufficient education, training and/or work experience to demonstrate possession of the following knowledge and skills, which would typically be acquired through:

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field and five years of progressively responsible, professional Information Technology experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform a particular subset of the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Licensing Requirements:
  • Valid California Driver’s License;

Preferred Certifications/Special requirements/Skills
  • SAP Fiori and ABAP Certification
  • Development experience in S/4 HANA environment
  • Participated in S/4 HANA migration activities
