INTERVIEWS WILL BE CONDUCTED THE WEEK OF AUGUST 26, 2024

The Assessor’s office is looking for a dynamic professional who loves details and complex problem solving. This is an entry-level temporary position where individuals, under close supervision, perform a variety of assignments pertaining to public relations and property appraisal for the Assessor's office.

Vital duties include:

  • Assist Appraisers or Auditor Appraisers in processing valuation information from source documents.
  • Review deed information for purposes of locating and mapping property.
  • Review business property statements and cost data used in valuing a personal property.
An Appraisal Technician I is an integral part of the County Assessor's Office whose mission is to aid in the development and reporting of an opinion of value on various types of property. This position is crafted for individuals who have an Associate of Arts degree with major coursework in Accounting, Public Administration, Economics, or Real Estate. OR, two years of responsible experience as appraisal support involved with property assessment or property valuation. If you have knowledge of legal instruments that affect property ownership principles, that's a plus!

Education and Experience Required

Level I: Associate of Arts degree from an accredited college or university. Major coursework in Accounting, Business, Public Administration, Economics, Real Estate, or a closely related field, is preferred; OR, two years of increasingly responsible experience as appraisal support involved with property assessment or property valuation.

Level II: ( in addition to the above) One year of responsible technical appraisal experience equivalent to the classification of Appraisal Technician I in Nevada County.
Licenses and Certificates
Possession of a valid California driver's license within 30 days of hire.
