Job Description

Pay Range: $15.45/hr.

Workdays & Hours: 29 hours per week; Some evenings and Saturdays required.

The Fort Worth Public Library is hiring a Part Time Library Page to provide great customer service while keeping library materials sorted and shelved in proper order. Position is available at the Ridglea Library.

The ideal candidate is friendly, helpful, extremely organized, enthusiastic about bringing library services to all members of the community, and comfortable working with diverse populations including people of all ages, backgrounds, dispositions, and abilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Less than a high school diploma/GED.
  • No prior experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least one year of customer service experience.
  • Ability to communicate with customers in Spanish.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to work at/travel to various locations.

The Library Page’s job responsibilities include:
  • Providing friendly, efficient, and professional service to customers.
  • Packing, unpacking, and sorting library materials.
  • Emptying the book-drop and checking in materials using a computer.
  • Shelving books in alphabetical, chronological, or numerical order.
  • Maintaining shelved books to ensure accuracy and proper placement.

Working Conditions

While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch, push, pull and lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
