The Portland Water Bureau Maintenance and Construction Team is looking for a Maintenance & Construction Program Support (CSA II) to join their dynamic team .

About the Position

Job Appointment: Casual

Work Schedule: Initial schedule will be Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week . This schedule is flexible and will be coordinated with the hiring manager. Note: This Community Service Aide (CSA II) position has a maximum of 1,400 hours in a calendar year.

Position Summary

The Maintenance and Construction team at the Portland Water Bureau is currently seeking a qualified candidate to join them as their Maintenance & Construction Program Support (C ommunity Service Aide II) . The primary focus of this role is to provide administrative support to the team in a variety of areas including file management, data entry, and customer service. This role will work under the direction of the Water Bureau staff .

As a Maintenance & Construction Program Support (CSA II) , you will:

  • Provide general administrative support to the Maintenance & Construction Team, including, but not limited to, filing and creating documents , such as emails and meeting agendas
  • Answer phone calls addressing customer service needs


  • Assist with special projects and other duties as needed

To Qualify

The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:

Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel


Ability and knowledge of standard office operating procedures, such as basic computer usage, typing, filing, and customer service


Experience using tact and discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive information


Excellent organization and communication skills


Preferred Qualifications
Although not required , you may have the following skill:
  • Previous data entry experience

Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be placed on the equally ranked eligible list.

Step 4 : Selection (Interview): Mid August 2024

Hiring bureau will review and select candidates for an interview.

Step 5 : Offer of Employment: Late August 2024

Some positions will require those offered employment to complete and sign a criminal background statement before being considered for employment.

Step 6 : Start Date: Late August 2024

A start date will be determined after all conditions of employment have been met.
