Position Description
Performs complex supervisory, coordinative and management duties in the preparation and publication of printed materials for assigned area. Responsible for the production process and may include scheduling, editing, and design issues. Work is performed under general supervision in accordance with established regulations and procedures.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Produce high-quality writing product that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience related to FMHIRCH.
  • Research, proof reading, and design.
  • Create clear, organized documents for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop standards and protocols with team members for project documentation.
  • Maintain stylistic, notational, and organizational standards to unify communications.
  • Edit existing content to conform to relevant standards and maximize clarity.
  • Plan future content in collaboration with management to maintain consistency and high-quality across all work product.
  • Can perform complex duties in the planning, preparation, and publication of printed and digital materials on a wide array of subjects for varied audiences.
  • Work with the Publisher of the Rural Health Quarterly (RHQ) and Supervisor in developing and scheduling content and the structure of the magazine.
  • Develop and maintain a set of internal deadlines for projects relevant to job duties.
  • Complete editing of the RHQ.
  • Assist on an as-needed basis with other areas within Rural and Community Health and TTUHSC in developing and editing marketing materials, brochures, reports, articles, grant writing, etc.
  • Meet with members of the Management Team and other stakeholders to gather information necessary to perform job duties.
  • With the oversight of the Management Team, complete the WEAVE Report each year.
  • With the oversight of the Management Team, write, edit, and design an annual report detailing the activities of the Institute and its staff.
  • Plan, design, and publish each issue of the RHQ. This includes picking themes, reaching out to and guiding contributing writers, and fact checking.
  • Assist with and contribute to the grant writing process on an as needed basis.


Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related area plus three (3) years progressively responsible related experience; OR a combination of specifically related education and/or experience to equal seven (7) years.
