Minimum Qualifications

Project Manager:
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:

Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field or major coursework in project management, plus six (6) years of progressively responsible work experience in managing projects.

Licenses and Certifications Required:
None.

apital Delivery Project Manager:
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:


Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, architecture, or construction science, plus eight (8) years of experience in a field related to engineering, architecture, or construction management.
OR,
Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in any field, plus ten (10) years of experience in a field related to engineering, architecture, or construction management.

Licenses and Certifications Required:
None.

The Transportation and Public Works Department, Sidewalks & Special Projects Division is seeking a Project Manager that will assist the Sidewalk and Special Projects Division by developing and managing sidewalk, safe route to school, urban trail, and bikeway construction projects in support of 2016, 2018, and 2020 bond programs.

The Public Works Department is comprised of multiple facilities located throughout Austin. If you are selected for this position, and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.

  • Experience with Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity ( IDIQ ) construction contracts.
  • Experience implementing Americans with Disabilities Act ( ADA ) requirements in conjunction with Public Right of Way ( ROW ) improvement projects, including Texas Accessibility Standards ( TAS ) and Public Rights-of-Way Accessibility Guidelines ( PROWAG ).
  • Experience using Ecapris or other similar project management system, to implement Capital Improvement Projects.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, in English and Spanish.
  • Ability to travel to more than one work location.
