Position DescriptionUnder general supervision performs skilled mechanical or analytical duties on various projects. May supervise subordinate employees.
Major/Essential Functions- Serves as a medical courier to deliver supplies, labs, and/or materials to various locations. This will require sitting in a vehicle for lengthy periods and lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Responsible for the pick-up and delivery of labs to appropriate destinations.
- Maintains accurate and complete records associated with mileage, and the pick-up and delivery of items to designated or assigned locations.
- Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders in coordinating pick-up and delivery of labs, supplies, or other items assigned.
- Responsible for the safe operation of university vehicles during transport.
- Responsible for the safe and compliant operation of duties and responsibilities.
- Adheres to institutional and departmental safety policies and procedures.
- Responsible for vehicle maintenance as required by Institutional Guidelines
In order to be eligible for this position and be approved driver for TTUHSC, the candidate must also meet the following requirements:
- Must hold a valid Texas Drivers License for a minimum of two years and have attained 18 years of age.
- Must not have any convictions for driving while intoxicated, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or reckless driving in the last 5 years.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
- Must be willing and able to submit to and pass mandatory drug/alcohol screenings throughout employment.
- Must be insurable under Texas Tech University Systems driver approval program upon hire.
- Must be approved through the Texas Tech Vehicle Operating Systems and Driving Rating Evaluation. Approval must be sustained.
- Must comply with driver record check requirements on an annual basis.
