The Position

Maintenance Repair Workers perform semi-skilled work in the building and mechanical trades to repair, construct, and/or maintain buildings, facilities and equipment.

PER EXECUTIVE ORDER 2024-06, ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL DECEMBER 31ST, 2024. Under general supervision, incumbents perform the more complex semiskilled level repair and maintenance work described in the series concept the preponderance of the time. Work situations encountered by incumbents at this level require more judgment and greater troubleshooting skills to diagnose malfunctions or adapt methods to accommodate unique requirements. This is the advanced journey level in the series. The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is currently recruiting for a full-time Maintenance Repair Worker 3 in Las Vegas, Nevada. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the following program: Desert Regional Center- Intermediate Care Facility (DRC ICF).

Incumbents perform general maintenance, repair, construction work in and around homes, equipment, furnishings, grounds, and vehicles to assure a safe and pleasant environment. Assuring the environment is safe and maintained helps individuals make choices to their daily lives, to have access, use of their environment to live and participate in the community, to have a choice of services, personal safety, and to have the best possible health. Specific duties may include performing preventative maintenance on Agency equipment such as appliances, furnaces, cooling compressors and vehicles. Other facility duties may include general maintenance and construction, painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, heating and cooling, furniture repair, roof repair, and other general duties. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Two years of experience performing semi-skilled work in the relevant building and/or mechanical trades; OR one year of experience as a Maintenance Repair Worker II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements Some positions require a valid Class A, B, or C driver's license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. Some positions are subject to call-back after work hours and call-out on weekends and holidays. These positions will be identified at the time of recruitment. Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
