Job Description

General Description and Classification Standards

Assists in overseeing the daily operations of the computerized access system, reports on security deficiencies, acts as lead worker with junior staff on airport security duties. Perform duties related to aviation security, physical security, access control, insider threat, CCTV monitoring, and customer service. Supervision Received. Direction received is focused on accomplishing objectives which are outlined in policy and procedures on airport security. Works with other staff with responsibility for completion of assigned tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, airport administration or business administration.

Preferred Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in airport management or criminal justice or related field and one (1) year experience in a security environment.

• Have considerable knowledge of principal policies and procedures involved in monitoring and controlling access at large complexes as well as a familiarization with the federal aviation security rules and regulations.

• Considerable knowledge of Access Control and CCTV systems is highly desirable.

• Considerable knowledge of Windows-based systems is highly desirable.

• Experience analyzing data and writing reports.

• Must successfully pass an FBI fingerprint based criminal history records check with no disqualifying crimes within the last 10 years and Security Threat.

• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Licensures and Certifications

• Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of application.

• A valid Georgia driver's license must be presented for verification at the time of appointment.

Essential Capabilities and Work Environment

• Required physical, lifting, and sensory capabilities are requirements to perform the job successfully.

• Typical environmental conditions associated with job.

• The people applying must successfully demonstrate their ability to receive, retain and process emergency information.

• There is a salary differential for shift work.

• This position is shift work; therefore, candidate must be flexible to work different shifts.
