Pay Range: $16.45/hr. - $20.49/hr.

The Environmental Services Department has a Code Compliance Technician job available in our Solid Waste Division. The ideal person will be high energy, detail oriented, have the ability to multi-task, and possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with customers, contractors, and citizens (customer service).

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • No previous experience required.
  • Must pass Drug Screen and Physical.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Map reading.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Smart phone operations, including taking and sending photos.
  • Microsoft Outlook.
  • Microsoft Excel.
  • Solid Waste Operations.
  • Map software experience.
  • Prior leadership/team building experience.
  • Customer Service experience.

The Code Compliance Technician job responsibilities include:
  • Input of daily audit data into city software system.
  • Investigating and identifying contractor and resident issues related to Solid Waste.
  • Assist the supervisor in gathering performance data.
  • Responsible for training.

Working Conditions

When assigned to the Environmental Collection Center, inside/outside working conditions exposed to all extremes of the environment; exposed to toxic and non-toxic odors, fumes, dusts, mists, gases, extreme weather, and other hazards relating to environmental waste.

Physical Demand

When assigned to the Environmental Collection Center: task will typically exert up to 150 pounds of force routinely, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects. Warehouse and outside environment. Exposure to dust, chemicals and seasonal weather.
