Pay Range: $52,768 - $68,599 annual compensation

Workdays & Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm; occasional evening and weekends.

A Management Analyst I job is available with The City of Fort Worth Environmental Services Department. Our Mission is: Working collaboratively to protect Fort Worth’s environment, nurture sustainable neighborhoods, and engage with the community through service and education. We aim to manage waste efficiently, champion health and safety, and curtail environmental pollution. This position is responsible for providing complex analytical and administrative support; conducts complex analysis research, policy analysis and budget/financial activities; coordinates assigned activities with other divisions; and provides highly responsible and complex staff assistance to higher level management staff. Core duties are related to service analytics, asset management, forecasting and analyses. Job functions include but are not limited to assisting with budget preparation and monitoring, planning, developing, implementing and managing department business process analysis services, maintaining metrics by the department, and managing the objectives, scope, schedule, resources and communications for assigned projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Public Administration, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • No previous experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to quickly analyze demands and determine potential streamline enhancements with excellent customer service and technical written/oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated Organization and Time Management skills
  • Data Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience
  • Proficient in MS Office software, SharePoint, Smartsheets and data management platforms.
  • Two (2) years’ experience with GIS.

The Management Analyst I job responsibilities include:
  • Collaborates with teams to collect and verify program performance indicators
  • Develops and finalizes professional written communications including reports, presentations, and graphics. Collaborates with Senior Management for approval on final version; and lays out the content for presentation.
  • Coordinates management of department assets by creating an inventory of assets; generating reports of assets assigned to each division; maintaining asset management database or records; developing standard operating procedures for asset management; and ensuring assets are accounted for, inventoried and tagged.
  • Coordinates activities related to the planning, organization, implementation and follow up of assigned special projects. Facilitates meetings with stakeholders; identifies objectives and assigns responsibilities; monitors progress against timeline and milestone data; troubleshoots issues; analyzes and prepares reports detailing findings and recommendations.
  • Implements new systems, methods and procedures; monitors program progress in meeting goals and objectives; conducts divisional updates to inform of project progress; adjusts as necessary; and interprets, analyzes and makes recommendations from data.
  • Inputs, monitors, and analyzes department/division budget; communicates budget and funding issues or requests; and creates analytical reports for monthly forecast and year end. Updates budget requests and supporting detail; analyzes changes and the impact to the budget.
  • Performs administrative technical support duties in a variety of areas.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Physical Demands

Sedentary Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work Page 4 of 4 involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
