General Description and Classification Standards Administers, organizes, coordinates, and directs the stores/supplies area within an assigned department. Duties include, but are not limited to: supervising assigned staff; distributing supplies; requisitioning, ordering and expediting purchases; determining work procedures; preparing periodic, special or perpetual inventory of stock; compiling stock records in stockroom and determining accuracy; and generating reports. Supervision Received Direction received is very general and focuses on end results and is typically collaborative in nature.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Prepares requisitions for equipment and supplies; handles emergency procurement. Prepares, reviews and monitors the purchasing process, which includes handling documents such as specifications, purchase orders, change orders and receiving reports. Prepares and maintains the record keeping system for invoices; reviews and evaluates bids; prepares requisitions; and contacts vendors and suppliers. Approves payment for purchases made by Bureau personnel; provides authorization number to managers or storekeepers; monitors contact prices on invoices; and reviews and makes recommendation on supply bids. Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing maintaining and shipping stock and related problems. Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures and to determine adequacy of stock levels. Decision Making May make purchasing or resource allocation decisions within organization guidelines. Leadership Provided Has formal supervisory authority over work group (typically at least 4-5 employees) to include discipline, performance management, scheduling, training, etc.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of inventory, store keeping operations and purchasing practices, policies and procedures, inventory control processes, and the operation, adjustment and maintenance of the equipment operated. Skill in effectively communicating and interacting with management and employees. Ability to shelve, store and distribute materials, and operate and enter information into a computerized inventory system. Ability to operate forklift and pallet jack.

Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. May perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). 3-5 years' of clerical, stocking, storekeeping operations or related area and supervisory experience required; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.

Preferred Education & Experience High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and 5-8 years' of storekeeping operations and supervisory experience preferred.

Licensures and Certifications Position would be expected to have licensure or professional certifications appropriate to the position. Required: Valid Georgia driver’s license
