The salary for this position is $62,880.00 - $78,627.00
General Description and Classification Standards
Develops the planning, design, acquisition and implementation of City’s voice communication system. This is a Senior level engineer. This is a fully seasoned professional level capable of independently carrying out most assignments typical of profession. This level would be attainable by multiple incumbents in a work group (not necessarily all) but would not be an automatic promotional level.
Supervision Received
Works under very general supervision. Depending on organization structure, may work independently with responsibility for an assigned function or program.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering (equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the required degree on an exception basis). 5 years' of telecom experience. Must have some project management or leadership experience.
Preferred Education & Experience
Master’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering and 5-8 years' of telecom experience.
Licensures and Certifications
None required.
