The Department of Social Work at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for fall 2024 to teach MSW 520: Social Welfare Policy. The course is a 3-unit class, has one 3-hour class each week of the 15-week semester , and is taught 100% online. The course is scheduled for Thursdays from 5:30-8:20 pm.
Course Description Examines social welfare policies and services in the United States; diverse social, political, and economic assumptions underlying the social welfare system, including global context; and the role of the social work profession in developing social policy, addressing social problems, and advancing social and economic justice.
Minimum qualifications - A Master of Social Work degree
- Five years of post-MSW related experience.
- Two years of experience in a leadership or policy related position in a social service agency/organization
- Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working within the State of California is a condition of employment.
Preferred qualifications: - Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensure.
- A doctoral degree in Social Work or in a closely related field.
- Experience in teaching university classes and with instructional technology.
Salary commensurate with degree level and experience - Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,007 - $6,359 per full-time month
- CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,007 - $6,359 per full-time month
