The Position

Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.

Clinical Social Worker 3's function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action OR function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives according to the needs of the hiring agency.

The Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Northern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services is recruiting for a Clinical Social Worker III. The Clinical Social Worker III position will serve as the Director of Social Services for Dini-Townsend Hospital. Dini-Townsend is a 30-bed acute psychiatric hospital for individuals with Severe Mental Illness (SMI). This position will work Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm and will have optional on call hours. This position will supervise the up to six inpatient Clinical Social Workers as they provide clinical services to clients in an inpatient setting. The position will not carry a caseload but will be expected to cover the caseloads of the social workers they supervise when they are on leave. This position is responsible to work with the Medical Director and the Director of Nursing (DON) to ensure that any concerns about patient care are being addressed. The position provides reports and data in several meetings related to leadership and quality assurance/improvement. This position requires great communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of other staff across disciplines both in inpatient and in outpatient services. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers, and one year of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting. Special Notes Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers. Persons employed by a government agency on July 1, 1988 as a social worker, supervisor of social work or administrator of social work who were performing clinical social work duties, and who possess a license to practice as an associate in social work and who meet the experience requirements are eligible to compete in the selection process for this series. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances. A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
