Salary Range: $60,858 - $75,000

General Description and Classification Standards

This position is responsible for developing and deploying creative solutions to provide continuous improvement of the departments core functions.
  • Coordinate projects through task management, organization and disciplined follow up.
  • Employ strong interpersonal skills to support and coordinate strategic relationships with user agencies, , vendors and other critical partners.
  • Conduct or support original qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Contribute to the scaling of procurement innovations by following industry developments, and studying relevant consumer, industry and public policy issues.
  • Creatively problem-solve and collaborate with a small, results-oriented team to effectively keep projects on track toward both short-term milestones and long-term strategic objectives.
  • Write both online and print communication that describes the work, supports policy efforts, and promotes dissemination of innovations.
  • Contribute to a positive organizational culture through consistent high energy, appetite for learning, eagerness to support colleagues and engaged participation on project teams.
  • Exceptional organization skills, with the ability to track and support multiple complex projects with both flexibility and close attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively as part of a team and independently to achieve goals and timelines.
  • Aptitude for analytic reasoning and the use of data to inform decision making.

  • Considerable knowledge of infrastructure project delivery methods, including design-collaboration, build and presentation.
  • Considerable knowledge of cost accounting as it relates to price and cost analysis for innovation.
  • Considerable skill in researching and preparing highly complex solutions to improve and innovate business practices.
  • Working understanding of skills required for effective project management.
  • Advanced computer skills, including office software (MS Office) automated purchasing systems, and productivity tools.
  • Ability to develop effective and cooperative working relationships with other departments, employees, suppliers, and other public agencies.
  • Ability to use judgment and initiative in making recommendations and resolving problems that are highly complex and sensitive in nature.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, including the ability to convey complex and technical subjects in a clear, concise, and positive manner.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (Equivalent professional experience may be considered for substitution for the required degree on an exception basis) 5-7 years if project management experience with a track record of proven results.
Preferred Requirements (separate from minimum requirements and not required to qualify for the job)
Master’s degree in business administration, procurement, or related area; plus 5 years’ experience in business strategy, innovation, or marketing.
