As a Parks and Recreation Attendant, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving our recreational facilities. Your duties will range from verifying guest reservations and preparing facilities for use, to inspecting and cleaning restrooms, performing light maintenance, and operating various equipment. You’ll work as part of a dedicated team to ensure our parks are safe, clean, and enjoyable for all visitors. Supervision & Examples of Duties

Receives general supervision from lead worker, supervisory or management staff.

Qualifications

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience:

One year experience performing general grounds maintenance and repair work in a park or recreational resources agency.

Training:
Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.

License or Certificate:
Possession of, or ability to obtain an appropriate valid drivers’ license.

Possession of D1 Distribution Certificate issued by the Department of Water Resources, State of California, Drinking Water Division; required within the first year of service.

Supplemental Information

The salary range above consists of 15 steps. Steps 1-6 are annual merit steps with approximately 5% difference between each step, based on successful performance. Steps 7-15 are additional merit steps, requiring 2 years of satisfactory performance at the previous step. Steps 7-14 provide 2.5% increases, while Step 15 offers a 5% increase. The final salary offered will depend on the applicant's experience and qualifications, ranging from steps 1 to 15.
