Come join the Newport Beach Police Department as an Animal Control Officer!

Currently there is one full-time position available. This recruitment will remain open on a continuous basis with the first review of applications on July 15, 2024, or at 200 applications - whichever occurs first. Selection Components:

Experience & Education and License/Certificate

A combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Experience: One year experience working with animals is desirable.

Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.

License/Certificate : Due to the performance of some field duties which require the operation of a personal or City vehicle, a valid and appropriate California driver's license and an acceptable driving record are required.

Possession of, or ability to obtain, P.O.S.T PC 832 certification within one year of appointment.
