Austin -Travis Country EMS is looking for their next Recruitment Coordinator. The ideal candidate must be passionate about people and service. The Recruitment Coordinator’s key role will be identifying and recruiting qualified applicants for EMS Field and EMS Communications positions resulting in a diverse and inclusive workforce. In order to support the organization’s recruitment efforts this position will be responsible for the full cycle recruitment process to include application screening, interview hosting, career fairs, community outreach, and assisting with social media and marketing for recruitment purposes (no day will be the same!).

$27.16 - $32.87 per hour

Hours
Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Will be required to work evenings or weekend based on business need.
The person selected for this position will be required to work in office full-time during a training period of at least six (6) months or more. Performance will be evaluated at the conclusion of the training period.

  • Experience working in a Civil Service Public Safety ( EMS , Fire, Police) environment with knowledge and understanding of the culture and values.
  • Ability to employ grassroots recruiting strategies and present publicly with confidence and poise at career fairs, expos, and other public events.
  • Skilled in developing and implementing out-of-the-box and innovate recruitment strategies.
  • Ability to remain self - motivated and work a flexed schedule, which may include weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to travel to more than one work location, will be required to travel state-wide to various career and community events.
  • Ability to lift 20-30 pounds.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

Identifies individuals who meet the optimal criteria for employment and attracts/recruits them for employment. Develops long-term communication plans and recruitment strategies to achieve optimal staffing levels. Establishes working relationships with department education programs, placement agencies, colleges, technical schools and other entities with the objective of increasing access to qualified applicants. May serve as department representative at recruitment events, job fairs, etc. Writes advertisements for newspapers, professional journals, internet websites, and other media. Provide regular releases on various social media sites in order to promote recruiting efforts. Update, revise, and manage the recruiting units’ internet presence. Develop long-term marketing plans, and conduct market research to establish where needs are. Develop promotional/advertising media in various formats to include videos, pamphlets, fliers, and posters. Coordinates hiring processes and testing/evaluation sessions, and sets up and coordinates employment interviews. May recommend qualified applicants to recruiting and/or executive staff. Keeps informed of developments in such areas as wages and salaries, employee benefits, City of Austin personnel practices and departmental needs.
