Senior Land Use Planner (Planner III) - $80,704.00 - $111,092.80 Annually
Planner III perform a wide range of highly responsible duties in urban, rural, and regional land use applications and studies. Duties include the Current Planning processing of development applications for entitlement; review of environmental documents; research and review of technical reports, maps and plans; and could include Advance Planning work related to the General Plan, development code, or special projects. Planner IIIs perform the most complex planning work, serve as project leaders and mentors, and coordinate contacts with outside agencies, public groups, the Board of Supervisors and the Planning Commission.

Land Use Planner (Panner II) - $69,721.60 - $95,846.40 Annually
Planner s II are responsible for a wide range of duties in urban, rural, and regional land use applications and studies. Duties include customer assistance, review of entitlement projects, review of environmental documents, the development of plans and studies, and research and review of technical reports, maps and plans to support Advance Planning and to process development applications. Planners II also serve as project leaders.

Supervising Planner - $89,003.20 - $122,553.60
Supervising Planners oversee and supervise Planners and other support personnel engaged in a wide variety of environmental, urban, and rural land use services, while performing the most difficult planning assignments. Supervising Planners assign, review and evaluate the work of subordinates, work with a variety of County departments, commissions, and advisory groups, and assist management with reports, data and other correspondence. In addition, Supervising Planners act as project leaders, and may also work independently on major planning programs.

Planning Manager - $100,692.80 - $138,715.20
We are recruiting for a Current Planning M anager and a Long-Range Planning Manager .
  • The Current Planning Section is responsible for processing development applications and reviewing plan checks to ensure compliance with zoning codes, specific plans, and other governing documents. This division focuses on timely and efficient processing of development project submittals, maintaining consistency with all relevant planning, zoning, and environmental regulations. The goal is to collaborate with residents and developers to facilitate and enhance future development in unincorporated San Bernardino County, balancing community needs with regulatory standards to preserve a high standard of living.
  • The Long-Range Planning Section supports ongoing land development activities through special long-range studies and projects, research, and analyses of planning issues. This division prepares long-range planning documents, special studies, policies, and municipal ordinances on various topics. Key examples of their work include the Local Hazard Mitigation Plan, General Plan Implementation, and Housing Element updates. The goal is to provide strategic planning and policy development to guide sustainable and resilient growth in San Bernardino County.
