Job Description

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Director of Systems, Servers and Websites, this position will work closely with the Web Development Center to administer the hosted and on premises web environments and Content Management systems to meet the various needs of CSULB. This position will play a key role in the assisting with the development, design, and maintenance of responsive, secure, accessible, and user-friendly web environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with administration of the campus Drupal environment. Maintain features and work with team members to provide continuous integration and development of the Content Management Framework.
  • Development of custom Drupal Modules, support of CSULB custom theme, and database environments.
  • Support the on-premises university template.
  • Design, develop and maintain existing websites using responsive and accessibility best practices.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical individuals in a culturally diverse campus environment. Attend and participate in departmental and team meetings.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of network architecture, configuration, and interfaces. Familiarity with different networking protocols such as TCP/IP and NetBlOS for maintaining and troubleshooting. Understanding of authentication services such as Active Directory and LDAP. Experience creating, normalizing and secure databases using various database offerings (MySQL, SQL, Oracle).

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Education and Experience

• Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or related technical field and two years of related experience required.

• B.S. in Computer Science or related field preferred.

• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS, and ARIA.

• Experience using Drupal related command-line tools, i.e. Drush, desired.

• Experience administering a Drupal environment in a cloud and/or on-premise environment desired.

• Experience with PHP programming language preferred.

• Experience with GitHub desired.

• Knowledge of HTTP responses, REST APIs and JSON formatting.

Physical Summary
  • Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $4,912 - $7,917 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,912 - $12,124 per month.

Time Base

1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
