Job Description

Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
  • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to Environmental Science, Life Science, Natural Science, plus two (2) years of experience in a related field.
  • Master’s degree may substitute for experience up to two (2) years.

Travel:

If you are selected for this position, and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.

Effective October 1, 2014, all Austin Water worksite locations are tobacco-free. Use of tobacco products and/or e-cigarettes is not permitted on any AW worksite -including construction sites, parking lots, garages or in any personal vehicle located on the premises.
Pay Range
$23.76 - $27.56
Hours
40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, with some flexibility; support weekend events.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

Communicates project and program information to internal and external customers; through presentations, reports, tours, instructional videos and/or technical training. Compiles, analyzes, interprets and develops informational and/or educational materials. Prepare necessary reports and/or documents for support of project/program. Maintains technical currency and awareness of internal/external business issues at it relates to area of responsibility. Represents Department/Division by interacting with various boards, commissions, special interest groups, outside organizations and other City Departments/Divisions. Trains, coordinates and supervises the work of volunteers. Responds to requests from the media. Evaluates projects, programs and performance measures/criteria. Assists in the development of short and long range plans for projects and programs. Reviews and interprets policies, codes, regulations and ordinances. Assists in the development of departmental/divisional processes and procedures.
