Pay Range: $22.02/hr. - $27.52/hr.

An Administrative Assistant - HRC/MRC is available with the City of Fort Worth, in the Public EventsDepartment. This department operates two large public event facilities in the City of Fort Worth. The Fort Worth Convention Center (FWCC) is located in vibrant downtown Fort Worth, and the Will Rogers Memorial Center (WRMC) is located in the beautiful Cultural District. The department also operates the Office of Outdoor Events, oversees the Fort Worth Sports Authority (which owns the Texas Motor Speedway), and funds Visit Fort Worth through a contractual agreement.

The Administrative Assistant - HRC/MRC will report to the Sr. Administrative Services Manager and is a critical part of the HR/Finance team. This position provides critical coordination of human resources and financial responsibilities. The position is planned to office at our Will Rogers Memorial Center campus, but can also work from the Fort Worth Convention Center. Collaboration across the department is necessary in the Fiscal and Administrative Division. This is customer focused position that is also very detailed oriented and works in conjunction with our internal customers. It requires the ability to work with confidential information and serve as a departmental Human Resource Coordinator and Medical Records Coordinator.

This position qualifies for the following incentives which is separate from the base pay:

***$2,000 Sign-On Incentive: 50% paid after the completion of first pay period, 50% paid after the completion of 6 months of employment.***

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associates degree from an accredited college or university, with major coursework in Business Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field
  • Four (4) years of clerical and administrative experience.
  • Must pass drug screening and physical screening.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • One (1) year of Human Resources and/or Payroll experience
  • Knowledge of City of Fort Worth financial processes
  • Peoplesoft Human Capital and Financial
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Word and Excel

The Administrative Assistant job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Prepare payroll, timekeeper and enter schedules
  • Serve in the Human Resource Coordinator role
  • Serve in the Medical Records Coordinator role
  • Review and approve electronic deposits (eRDD)
  • Perform Accounts Receivable functions and prepare bank reconciliations
  • Process Receipt invoices
  • Create Venue Tax uploads

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Sedentary Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary Work category involves worker sits most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
