MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • OR an equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License
PREFERRED:
  • Two years of Human Resources experience
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR)-HRCI
  • Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)-HRCI
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for meeting the hiring goals by filling open positions with talented and qualified candidates. The HR Recruiter will research, develop, and implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified and capable talent for the organization.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manages, monitors, and supports the recruitment process from beginning to end and provides great candidate experience.
  • Establishes and cultivates relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and HR team members in order to fill positions with the most qualified talent.
  • Partners with hiring managers to craft job advertisements and develop screening criteria and interview questions.
  • Develops and executes creative recruiting plans and strategies that ensure hiring goals are met, and equitable and nondiscriminatory practices are followed in compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and other applicable state and federal regulations/laws.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with managers and candidates to determine the effectiveness of recruiting efforts.
  • Identifies opportunities to build applicant pools, establish trust and partnerships with managers, comprehensively understand department hiring needs, identify potential “fit” through effective interviewing, and ensure a positive new hire experience.
  • Coordinates various recruitment-related events and works with local schools/colleges to promote City positions.
  • Analyzes operational information, including surveys, evaluates trends, and develops plans to meet future needs; assures effective communication of HR issues.
  • Stays informed of industry trends and innovative recruitment techniques while striving for continuous improvement.
  • Develops techniques for compiling, preparing, and presenting HR-related data.
  • May be required to respond after-hours, including holidays and weekends, in the event of a departmental or City-wide emergency.
  • Driving is essential.
