The Project & Facilities Department is recruiting for a Facilities Maintenance Dispatcher* to receive calls for facility maintenance, prioritize requests, and assist the supervisor in scheduling and dispatching appropriate work crews. Additional duties include compiling, updating, and processing reports and records for code compliance, outstanding work orders, parts issuance, and other special reports. This position will serve as a liaison between field and office personnel, and with other County departments.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Project & Facilities Management Department (PFM D ) is a multi-disciplined department of professionals providing San Bernardino County with comprehensive building and facilities services. The d epartment builds and maintains the majority of the County's vast infrastructure, which includes over 250 facilities. Several key departments served include Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, Fire District, Sheriff, Probation, Regional Parks, County Administrative Offices, Library, Museum, and many more!

In addition, the Facilities Management team comprises over 100 dedicated staff who oversee the operations, maintenance, landscaping, and custodial services for most County-owned facilities.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Minimum Requirements

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Six (6) months of full-time equivalent experience using a computerized maintenance management work order system. Experience must be obtained in a facilities maintenance or closely related environment.

-OR-

One (1) year of full-time equivalent experience in a dispatch center with responsibility to dispatch maintenance service providers, maintenance work crews, or maintenance vehicles to service calls.

Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess three years of multi-tasking experience in a large organization's facilities maintenance division, with responsibility for intake of orders and dispatch of personnel. The candidate will excel at prioritizing service and maintenance calls, and have strong familiarity with maintenance and construction terminology.
