About the Position:

The Student Health and Counseling Center strives to support students in achieving their academic, professional, and personal goals. Under the direction of the Director of TitanHEALTH and the Senior Associate Director of TitanHEALTH/Medical Director, the Radiologic Technologist II operates diagnostic x-ray Computed Radiography (CR) equipment to provide radiographs, digital or similar images of diagnostic quality to the consulting radiologist(s) as ordered by the patient’s medical physician or similar practitioner. Makes independent decisions regarding the selection of techniques to obtain optimal quality radiographic images, assess quality of radiographic images, and process x-ray orders in electronic health record system Point and Click (PnC). Provides radiographic studies as ordered by providers in TitanHEALTH or Athletics Sports Medicine. Submits and retrieves stored images and corresponding evaluation reports from consulting radiologist and store appropriately in electronic health records system. Prepares duplicate x-ray files for release per the records release policy. Reviews and updates guidelines/procedures or related protocols in conjunction with the Radiology Supervisor for compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards. Provides training to TitanHEALTH team on new/updated radiology techniques. Actively participates in Quality Improvement (QI)/other reports and accreditation activities. Assists in resolving issues with radiology equipment and/or software programs. Maintain professional communication with radiology contracted providers, TitanHEALTH clinical care team members, and TitanHEALTH leadership. Collaborates with campus departments and off campus vendors regarding equipment maintenance and safety inspections, and other compliance activities. Actively participates in department, division, and campus-wide meetings, events, and training as appropriate for position or directed by department leadership. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent plus the requisite postsecondary education to obtain a Certificate of Radiologic Technology, plus sufficient experience with increasing responsibility as a certified radiologic technologist which demonstrates the knowledge and abilities to perform assigned duties. Typically, this requires two or more years of radiologic experience. Graduated from an accredited school of radiologic technology. Possess and maintain a Certificate of Radiologic Technology as a certified radiologic technologist issued by the Radiologic Health Branch of the California Department of Health Services. The Radiologic Technologist II may also be required to possess and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification. Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and the biological sciences and general knowledge of the principles of physics, electricity and related physical sciences as applied to X-ray and other commonly used radiologic techniques, as well as medical unit or clinical procedures. Thorough knowledge of the hazards of radiologic materials and safety precautions. Working knowledge of health center administrative processes and procedures.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a college health setting with a diverse population. Prior CSU experience. Radiologic information systems (RIS) and picture archiving and information systems (PACS) experience. Responsible for broader administrative and operational duties for the radiology department and often provide lead work direction and technical supervision to other Radiologic Technologists. In the absence of the consulting radiologist, the Radiologic Technologist II may perform unusual X-ray studies.

License/Certifications

Possess and maintain a Certificate of Radiologic Technology as a certified radiologic technologist issued by the Radiologic Health Branch of the California Department of Public Health; and may also be required to possess and maintain CPR/AED certification.

A Valid California Driver’s License.
