Applicants must submit copies of all required certifications, including Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and CPR-AED for the professional rescuer with the city application. Water Safety Instruction (WSI) is highly desirable but not required. JOB DUTIES: - Monitors pool activities and take preventative actions to maintain the safety of the pool area by warning against unsafe practices
- Responds to water emergencies, rescues, and assist patrons in the water
- Provides basic first aid to swimmers as required
- Reports and completes incident and accident reports
- Instructs swimming lessons, completes and maintain swim lesson records, logs, and certificates
- Records attendance of all pre-registered participants
- Maintains the pool area, sweep, hose down deck and pool area, dispose of trash, dirt, leaves, and other debris
- Test pool for proper chemical and water balances and maintains equipment and supplies for pool
- Other job/department related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: Possess and maintain at the time of application process
Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and CPR-AED for the Professional Rescuer certifications and be able to:
- Maintain effective and courteous working relationships with parents, campers, co-workers, and community members
- Express maturity in thought and demonstrate good judgment in performing duties
- Ability to follow supervision and suggestions of management for improvement of service;
- Willingness to cooperate with other employees and the public they serve
- Demonstrate good citizenship, honesty, loyalty, ethical behavior, and sobriety
