MSW 540: Field Instruction I - Position: Lecturer - Academic Year

The Department of Social Work at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for fall 2024 to teach MSW 540: Field Instruction I. The course is a 3-unit class, has one 2-hour class each week of the 15-week semester , and is taught 100% online. The course is scheduled for Thursdays from 5:30-7:20 pm and involves site visits (usually virtual) with student practicum agencies.
Course Description First course of a foundation two-semester sequence. Supervised practice in a social services or related agency developing basic micro, mezzo, and macro skills with an emphasis on culturally informed social work practice. Field seminar and 16 hours weekly supervised agency field experience.
Minimum qualifications: - A Master of Social Work degree
- Five years of post-MSW related experience
- Five years of experience working in county child welfare services in California.
- Experience in supervising MSW students/recent MSW graduates in a social service setting.
- Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working within the State of California is a condition of employment.
Preferred qualifications: - Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensure.
- A doctoral degree in Social Work or in a closely related field.
- Experience in teaching university classes and with instructional technology.
Salary commensurate with degree level and experience - Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,007 - $6,359 per full-time month
- CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,007 - $6,359 per full-time month
