Nevada County is seeking an Administrative Analyst I or II. This is a full-time position where individuals, with general supervision, support the management and administration of Information and General Services Agency (IGS) grants, projects, and initiatives as well as supporting management of animal shelter contracts, collaboration with animal shelter contractor, and ensuring successful implementation of animal shelter services.
The Administrative Analyst I or II will be responsible for managing progress reporting deadlines and working with IGS staff to draft appropriate reports and other materials using funder-designated templates, timelines, and submission processes. Post-submission, this position will ensure that all appropriate materials are filed according to the document retention policies associated with the funder. This position may be asked to support coordination activities for grant-funded projects including those associated with storm debris clean-up, shaded fuel break implementation, and public education.

In addition to grant and project support, this position may support management of animal shelter contracts including but not limited to reviewing invoicing/reporting, collaboration with shelter contractor, conducting outreach/education, supporting implementation of process improvements, and ensuring quality sheltering operations.

  • Ability to manage time and be responsive to multiple deadlines.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship management skills.
  • Experience with contract and project management.
  • Knowledge of community animal shelter guidelines and requirements.
  • Familiarity with state and federal grants.
  • Confident in navigating online grant portals.
The Administrative Analyst I or II is an important position for supporting IGS in achieving grant-funded mitigation goals across Nevada County. This position is designed for college graduates who are experienced in report writing and project/contract management.

This is a full-time, fully benefited position. Retirement
The County is a member of the CalPERS retirement system and provides the opportunity for voluntary contributions to a 457 deferred compensation account through Nationwide by way of pre-tax and Roth payroll deductions.

Tier 2 (Hired by a CalPERS employer between 7/2411-12/31/12 and coming to Nevada County with less than 6-months between separation from former CalPERS employer and hire date with Nevada County) 3% @ 55.

Tier 3 (Hired by any CalPERS employer on or after 1/1/13) 2.7% @ 57.
