Pay Grade: Grade 18

Starting Pay: $86,605.33

Departmental Mission Statement: The Executive Office of the Trial Court is led by the Chief Justice of the Trial Court and the Court Administrator and oversees judicial and court operations, including the Office of Court Management. The Executive Office works collaboratively with the seven Trial Court Departments and Commissioners of Probation and Jury to develop and implement policies and initiatives that promote an environment of continuous improvement and ensure the most effective use of resources to allow the delivery of quality justice. The Executive Office also oversees the development and implementation of strategic planning for the Trial Court.

Position Summary:Working within the Executive Office of the Trial Court, the Digital Media & Signage Specialist (DMSS) manages communications for the court-wide digital signage project being implemented in all court locations. This role is responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining general Trial Court Communications Office content for digital signage in 94 courthouses across the Commonwealth. The DMSS provides support to courthouse and court department staff on posting and updating courthouse-specific content, trains court staff responsible for departmental content, creates processes and plans for court-wide implementation, and serves as the Communications Office point person with the digital signage vendor. Additional duties include creating and editing communications-related videos for court staff and court users, as needed.

Supervision Received:Receives general direction and supervision from the Senior Communications Manager.

Duties:

Creates, edits, and maintains Communications Office-related content for digital signage in courthouses across the state.

Provides guidance and collaborates digital signage roll-out with cross-functional department teams related to court department and courthouse-specific content.

Works with Communications Office team to create a content communications plan and workflow for Communications aspects of the digital signage project.

Onboards and provides ongoing support to local employees responsible for their court department’s digital signage, including leading virtual group training sessions.

Ensures that digital signage meets Trial Court standards for branding, design, appropriateness, visibility, consistency, and accuracy.

Works with the Trial Court’s Office of Language Access to post translated content in top languages for the Communications aspects of digital signage.

Creates project plans that allow detailed tracking of progress toward goals and objectives.

Develops short-form videos to help to help inform and promote court programs, services, news, and events via other court communications vehicles, such as website and intranet.

Minimum Requirements: These are the minimum requirements necessary to apply for the position of Digital Media and Signage Specialist:

Education, Skills, and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Communications, Marketing, Design or a related field.

Three (3) years of experience in communications, digital marketing/digital media/ or design.

Demonstrated creative and problem-solving skills to conceptualize, develop, and update content on a regular basis to ensure displays effectively communicate key messages and information to target audiences.

Proficiency with design-related tools to create images, videos, and templates such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro and Acrobat Pro; Microsoft Office Suite applications, such as Word and PowerPoint; Canva; video hosting platforms, such as YouTube or Vimeo, and similar content creation tools. Experience with Appspace is a plus.

Attention to detail, quality control, and branding guidelines.

Strong project management and problem-solving skills; ability to use technology tools to report and track progress.

Demonstrated writing, communications, and organizational skills.

Proven ability to work effectively with cross-departmental teams and ability to work under deadline.

Knowledge of the organization of the Massachusetts Trial Court is a plus.

Candidate must be able to travel to courthouses across the Commonwealth.
