Summary

The minimum starting salary is $64,000, which may vary based on experience.

THE CITY OF WACO SEEKS:

A Senior Planner to perform technical work including data research and analysis for municipal planning projects. They will provide expertise in planning, zoning, and transportation and assist with developing the Comprehensive Plan and City ordinances. Responsibilities include ensuring project plans align with City goals and regulatory standards, creating GIS-based maps and presentations, offering recommendations on city standards to developers, reviewing development plans for compliance, presenting reports in public meetings, and coordinating with various departments and agencies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Business or Public Administration, Engineering, Geography and Architecture
  • Two years’ urban planning experience oran equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License.

Preferred:
  • Professional certification through the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP)
