General Description and Classification Standards
Supervises staff and maintains associated facility paperwork; supervises and coordinates the short and long term operation and maintenance of a municipal swimming pool and performs other related work as required for the assigned department. Enhances and increases program participation, awareness, and community involvement with the facility, Duties include, but are not limited to: supervising and training various aquatics pool staff including safety instructors, lifeguards and aquatic assistants; providing general lifeguard services (i.e. rescuing swimmers in distress, administering CPR and first aid); maintaining pool safety; maintaining sanitation of pool facilities; instructing swimming and life guarding classes; and performing other duties as required.
Supervision Received
Normally receives guidance regarding group objectives, scheduling, unusual priorities, etc. but is free to set work methods and individual assignments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. May perform other duties as assigned
Prepares documents for evaluations, revenue and inspection reports, meetings, supplies, payroll, staff scheduling, etc. Registers, collects fees, and maintains records for class, season pass, lap swim, weight room, water aerobics, and swim lesson participants. Maintains order and cleanliness of the facility to comply with local government standards. Attends all necessary meetings including routine facility staff, monthly ATL Stats, and yearly GRPA meetings. Supervises employees regarding timecards, program staffing and participation, and disciplinary procedures as needed. Compiles budgets for pool chemicals, program equipment, supplies, and special or seasonal programming.

May make purchasing or resource allocation decisions within organization guidelines.
Leadership Provided
Has formal supervisory authority over work group (typically at least 4-5 employees) to include discipline, performance management, scheduling, training, etc.

General knowledge of pool equipment, chemicals, and emergency procedures. Ability to work under stress while performing duties and responsibilities in a cooperative manner with staff, supervisor and general public.
Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience
High school diploma.
5 years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications - Education and Experience
Some college education or vocational training, plus 5 years of related experience in aquatics and supervisory experience.
Licensures and Certifications
CPR; First Aid; Lifeguard Training (LGT); Certified Pool Spa Operator (CPO); Water Safety Instructor (WSI); USA Swimming Coach (USASC); Lifeguard Training Instructor (LGI); Valid Georgia Driver’s.
