We are seeking a full-time Administrative Analyst I or II to serve the Risk Management department located in Nevada City, California. This position will serve as a trailblazer representing senior leadership in the community! You will work directly with the County Executive Office and the Risk Manager to assist with contract reviews, insurance recommendations, assist with identifying potential liabilities to the County, and serve as an integral standout colleague in the county. The candidate will perform integral tasks to ensure the County is protected from risks in the realms of general liability, safety, and workers’ compensation. The position will be based primarily in Nevada City with the potential to travel to all areas of the County, including Truckee.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about public service, placing a strong emphasis on the need for data-driven solutions by exploring nuances and dynamic perspectives when solving any given issue. Qualifying applicants should have experience and/or a desire to learn about contract requirements and liability exposures. Successful abilities include prioritizing multiple tasks while working in a fast-paced and exciting environment. Agility in navigating changing circumstances while having excellent discretion is a must. Other work will include fiscal budgeting, detailed research, process improvement efforts, working on special projects, and some administrative support duties. True success in this position requires determination and a passion for working in the public sphere and advancing the well-being of the community. An individual who is results-minded with the agility to shift in response to high priorities is essential. Understanding local government and the ingredients for successful public-private partnerships is valued.

This is a full-time, fully benefited, and administrative-exempt level position that receives a confidential pay differential. The County of Nevada offers an extensive benefits package commensurate with the level of leadership and experience required for this position. The Administrative Analyst will receive 189 hours of personal leave per year during the first five years of service (increasing with tenure). The position also receives an additional 40 hours per year of administrative leave after six months of service. Education and Experience Required

Level I:

Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, economics or a related field from an accredited college or university, and one year of experience in administrative, budget or personnel analysis, preferably in a public agency. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis to a maximum of two years.

Licenses and Certificates

Possession of a valid California driver's license within 30 days of hire.

Nevada County employees can opt to receive dental and vision insurance without opting for health insurance coverage as well. Delta Dental is the dental provider offered through Nevada County and VSP Vision Care is our vision care provider.

Retirement
The County is a member of the CalPERS retirement system and provides the opportunity for voluntary contributions to a 457 deferred compensation account through Nationwide by way of pre-tax and Roth payroll deductions.
