Major Duties

Under the general direction of the area Director, the Financial Operations Lead maintains and is r esponsible for the production support and operational control of the Financial Systems & Student Financials module within the campus solutions system. The incumbent manages operational accounting processes and provides guidance and training for the operations analysts responsible for cyclical accounting processing and supporting the financial and student systems.
  • Provides functional development support including system analysis, planning, design, configuration & support for the CSU's PeopleSoft (PS) Finance databases and Student Financials module.
  • Responsible for all facets of the planning & design effort for the PS Finance applications & Student financials module, ensuring quality and standards meet defined expectations, works with functional teams, end-users, and consultants to gain an understanding of development requirements.
  • Develops functional specifications in support of business requirements; tests Campus and Auxiliary PeopleSoft finance programs, including all customizations, upgrades, and other releases; coordinates and/or leads PS development efforts with functional Subject Matter Experts, technical resources and the Financial Systems lead/analysts; provides project management and direction in support of ongoing implementations/upgrades for PS Finance & Student application.

Qualifications
  • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a job-related field required.
  • Equivalent to six (6) years of full-time, progressively responsible relevant experience in a highly specialized technical/professional area. Oversight and administration of a program with supervision and/or lead experience.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Strong management and interpersonal skills to lead and develop the operations analysts.
  • Extensive and in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply expertise in the advanced theories, principles, analytical methods and practices associated with accounting processing and financial systems support, including applicable internal policies and procedures and pertinent laws and regulations, which are highly complex and require substantial judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying them; expertise in BI Publisher, PeopleTools, SQR, and SQL, as well as GAAP Accounting, are desirable.
  • Ability and specialized skills to: interpret and evaluate results to develop sound conclusions and recommend new or revised policies; understand problems from a broad perspective and develop strategic solutions; work with representatives from public and private entities; demonstrate consultative and facilitation skills in working with internal and external constituent groups; interpret and integrate complex data and information to formulate appropriate courses of action; effectively present ideas and concepts in written or presentative format.


Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

  • Classification: Administrative Analyst Specialist / 1038 / 4
  • The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $6638 - $9400 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $6638 - $12899 per month.
  • HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include evenings and weekends.
  • This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
  • The position is currently hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote); however, this is subject to change based on student and/or operational needs.
