Position Description
Under general direction, provides career counseling, internship and job search services, and outreach programs to students and alumni; oversees the case management of assigned active employers; assists with career services' events; teaches career decision-making course; markets career services to students, alumni, and faculty/staff.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Directly supports Lubbock based students (~540) in identifying their interests, values,
  • skills, and personalities, and understand how these factors relate to their academic/career satisfaction and choices.
  • Directly counsels Lubbock based medical students and alumni on career options and opportunities.
  • Supports Lubbock based medical students with career decision
  • making, goal setting, action planning, and identifying internal/external obstacles to obtaining their career goals.
  • Provides guidance and training to faculty and specialty specific advisors on most up to date career advising resources to meet students' career counseling needs.
  • Conducts career advising programming (presentations and workshops) to meet the advising needs of Year 1 - Year 4 medical students and the specialty specific faculty who provide career advising to Year 1 - Year 4 medical students.
  • Uses standard quantitive and qualitive assesments to help LBK based students assess career goals.
  • Researches evaluates & updates written and electronic career & educational resources.


Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two (2) years related experience.
